I was glad to see the article about the group (of prominent local clergy, law enforcement and public health leaders) who are working together to start an initiative about gun control.

It seems like this session of the state Legislature has once again yielded to the gun lobby. They have not shown any backbone to those who support closing background checks for gun buyers at gun shows, in newspaper ads on the Internet or from a second party.

I would urge everyone to back this initiative.
