Several members of the Mercer island football team were named to the KingCo all league teams this fall.

On offense, Islander quarterback Brian Higgins was named to the second team, as was Risley Lesko, a running back. Matt Orehek was given honorable mention as a wide receiver, as well as honorable mention for safety, and Zach Bucklin was named to the first team as a tight end. Sean Pyne earned second team honors as a guard, while Alex Emanuels was named to the center’s first team.

On defense, Alex Himstead was named to second team as a defensive end, and Nathan Derider was also named to the second team as a linebacker, as was Danny Stanke. Matt Hassell and Josh Omdal both earned honorable mentions as linebackers.
