Mercer Island residents who recently graduated from the University of Portland include: Kelley Han, bachelor’s degree, electrical engineering; Katherine McConaughy, bachelor’s degree, nursing; Jerry Numata, master’s degree, business administration.

University president, Rev. E. William Beauchamp, C.S.C., conferred 744 bachelor’s and 160 master’s degrees during commencement exercises held on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, at the University of Portland campus.

Robert Blakey, of Mercer Island, graduated from the Oxford Tutorial College and will attend the University of the Pacific. He will major in finance.
