Jacket stolen from coat rack at I Love Pho; car prowled along 84th Avenue S.E.

December 4

Warrant arrest: Police stopped a 34-year-old Federal Way man for traffic at the 9600 block of S.E. 36th Street, and took him into custody on an Auburn misdemeanor warrant. He was transported to jail.

Accident: A 71-year-old Island woman slipped on wet pavement, fell and broke the tibia and fibula in her right leg at the corner of 82nd Avenue S.E. and Forest Avenue S.E.

December 5

Theft: A 46-year-old male reported a theft from the I Love Pho restaurant located at the 7600 block of S.E. 27th Street. An unknown subject took a jacket from the coat rack on Dec. 1, which contained an address book and credit cards.

Collision: A 23-year-old Sammamish woman struck a pedestrian, a 42-year-old Seattle man, while backing up her vehicle at the Shell station at the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. The fire department responded, but the man refused care. The woman’s car had a small dent on the rear tailgate that she said was pre-existing. No witnesses saw the collision.

Found property: A citizen turned in a duffel bag with found athletic equipment at the records counter, which was forwarded to the property room.

December 6

Found property: A North-end QFC employee turned in a wallet that she found in the parking lot on Nov. 28. The owner of the wallet was notified by U.S. mail, and the wallet was entered into safekeeping into MIPD property.

Fraud: A 51-year-old Island man reported that $1,000 was charged to his Verizon account after someone used his information to purchase phones at a store in Olympia. The Verizon store identified the suspect.

Collision: Neighbors observed an elderly person driving his vehicle back and forth in the yard in a confused state. He struck bushes, tore up the yard and damaged a vehicle. The fire and police departments were called, but the man had no obvious injuries.

December 8

Theft: A store employee saw two females stealing liquor from the North-end QFC. Police located the women and their vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, and arrested them on suspicion of shoplifting and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

December 9

Runaway: Police filed a juvenile runaway report for a 15-year-old female who lives at the 8100 block of S.E. 44th Street. She was found and reunited with her mother.

December 10

Malicious mischief: A 27-year-old Island woman said her vehicle was keyed, likely due to being double parked (occupying two spaces) at the 9000 block of West Shorewood Drive.

Prowling: A 29-year-old male and 35-year-old female were victims of vehicle prowling at the 2400 block of 84th Avenue S.E. They said they were awakened by their car alarm going off. The passenger side window was smashed and a black zip-up grocery bag was missing.
