Boy Scouts from Mercer Island (Troops 624, 647 and 457) and Bellevue competed in the annual Around the Island canoe relay race on Sept. 20. The 13-mile relay has been a fixture of Mercer Island scouting for several years. Troop 624 won the event in two hours, 37 minutes.
