Mercer Island advances in state tourney after beating Garfield | Girls prep lacrosse

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team will advance to the next round of the state tournament, after beating Garfield on Tuesday. The final score was 18-8 for the Islanders.

The Mercer Island girls lacrosse team will advance to the next round of the state tournament, after beating Garfield on Tuesday. The final score was 18-8 for the Islanders.

Dulce Moll scored four goals in the game, while added four assists for the team, while Tyler Sherper had five goals and one assist. Saffron Snethen scored five goals of her own, with one assist, while Madison Blackburn added two more goals for the Islanders. Annalise Weiss second one goal and had four ground balls in the game.

Mercer Island will next play Stadium in the state quarterfinals. Stadium beat Evergreen 14-10 on Tuesday night to advance. The game against Stadium will take place on Friday, May 10 at 6 p.m. at Mercer Island High School.

The winner of the quarterfinal match will advance to the semifinals, to be played on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m.
