In a Thursday afternoon home game, the Mercer Island fastpitch team fell by just two runs to Mount Si. The final score was 6-4 for the Wildcats.
Mount Si led the game 1-0 for the first four innings, before the Islanders tied the game in to top of the fourth. The game didn’t stayed tied for long, as Mount Si added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, followed by two in the fifth. The Islanders tried to put together a comeback, scoring three runs in the sixth, but it wasn’t enough to take control and win the game.
Mount Si had six runs and eight hits with two errors, while the Islanders had four runs and six hits and two errors.
The Islanders will next play on Tuesday, May 1 at 4:30 p.m. against Sammamish at the South Mercer Playfields.
