The Rotary Islanders of the month are Mercer Island High School students Tess Eberts and Alexander Faith.
Eberts, the daughter of Patti Paxton Eberts and Lindsay Eberts, is a Bridges leader, Natural Helper and D.A.R.E. role model at MIHS, where she has been involved in volleyball, Pennies for Patients, the American Cancer Society and the Mt. She also participated in the Washington Cultural Exchange on a trip to Vietnam, helping orphanages and a school for disabled students. She enjoys traveling in her spare time and will enroll in the arts program at the University of British Columbia (Canada).
Faith, the son of John and Lynne Faith, participates in the National Honor Society, wrestling, cross country and baseball at MIHS, where he won the Academic All-State Honorable Mention for wrestling. In the community, he is a baseball umpire for seventh and eighth-graders in the Cascade League. In past years, he joined the VOICE Program and volunteered at a hospital in St. Lucia. In his free time, he fishes, skis and boats. He has chosen to attend the University of Washington.
