I find the implication to be drawn from your opinion page cartoon bizarre at best. It shows an overweight (can I make that judgment?) woman smoking a cigarette while dumping her lifesavings into a slot machine and complaining about politicians raising taxes.

First, I am certain that the percentage of the population that is still paying taxes did not get to where they are by playing the slots, so I am left with the conclusion that the tax money our politicians are spending on our behalf is as if we had dumped our hard-earned dollars into a giant slot machine (bureaucracy?).

Perhaps the cartoonist was referring to the future tolling of I-90 due to the mismanagement of WSDOT on the 520 project.
