Islander golf earns conference win; girls soccer ties Eastlake.

Boys golf tops Juanita

Mercer Island boys golf earned a conference win over Juanita Thursday, Sept. 18 at Twin Rivers Golf Course, besting the Rebels 182-201.

Will Mansfield finished the front nine with the day’s best score, shooting 32 strokes. Luke Mounger posted a scorecard of 36, while Drew Christofferson and Brendan Yan both finished with scores of 37. Connor Andrews and Devin Andrews led the Rebels with scores of 35 and 37, respectively.

The Islanders will travel to Bellevue Municipal Golf Course to take on Lake Washington Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 3 p.m.

Girls soccer ties Eastlake

Defense reigned supreme Thursday night at Eastlake High School, as Mercer Island girls soccer tied the Wolves in a scoreless affair. With the draw, Mercer Island finished its week 1-0-1.

The Islanders were coming off its first conference win of the season, beating Interlake 2-0 at Islander Stadium earlier in the week. Mercer Island currently stands at 3-1-1, with a conference-best 10 points.

Mercer Island will take on Juanita at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Juanita High School.
