Islanders on Eastside FC GU11 Blue team win at Kent soccer tournament

Jennifer Bernardez, Macy Mounger, and Jocelyn Thomson, Mercer Island 10-year-olds, are members of the Premier Eastside FC GU11 Blue soccer team, which won the GU11 A Division of the 11th Annual Kent Cornucopia Cup soccer tournament.

Jennifer Bernardez, Macy Mounger, and Jocelyn Thomson, Mercer Island 10-year-olds, are members of the Premier Eastside FC GU11 Blue soccer team, which won the GU11 A Division of the 11th Annual Kent Cornucopia Cup soccer tournament.

The team went undefeated all tournament, sweeping fice games in total, and winning the finals 2-1 against Kent United 99 Green.

Bernardez is a fifth-grader at Lakeside School, Mounger is a fifth-grader at West Mercer and Thomson is a fifth-grader at Island Park.

The team is coached by Dan Bubar.
