FRAUD: At 11:59 a.m., a 54-year-old Mercer Island man reported that his credit card information was stolen and used fraudulently in South Carolina.
MAY 29
STOLEN PROPERTY: At 4:02 p.m., a 56-year-old Mercer Island woman reported her son’s cell phone was missing or stolen. Her son left his “pumpkin orange” colored phone in the recreation room at an apartment complex in the 700 block of S.E. 27th Street. When he returned 30 minutes later to retrieve the device, it was gone.
MAY 30
CAR CRASH: At 4:30 p.m., a 1996 Volvo collided with a parked 2010 Nissan near S.E. 28th Street in the QFC parking lot. The driver of the Volvo struck the occupied Nissan as he attempted to pull into a parking stall. The report stated that there was minimal damage to both cars, no injuries, and the driver of the Volvo was cited for inattention.
JUNE 1
DUI: At 9:30 p.m., a 59-year-old King County man was stopped in the 2000 block of 80 Avenue S.E. for driving without the use of headlights. According to the police report, the driver appeared heavily intoxicated and could not perform the field sobriety tests. The driver refused a breath test, was taken into custody and booked into the King County Jail for DUI, having an open container in a moving vehicle and driving without headlights when required.
JUNE 2
CAR PROWL: A 54-year-old Mercer Island woman reported her car was broken into sometime between 6 p.m., May 20, and 11 a.m., May 21. She reported multiple credit cards, a flashlight and a pair of sunglasses stolen from the unlocked BMW parked in the 600 block of 94th Avenue S.E. Renton police recovered several credit cards and identified a possible suspect.
JUNE 5
ARREST: A 30-year-old Renton man was arrested for driving without a license in the second degree in the 9000 block of I-90 at 2:25 a.m. Police impounded the car, a 2005 Infinity. The man was cited for driving without insurance and booked into the Issaquah Jail.
JUNE 6
ARREST: A 21-year-old Auburn man was taken into custody for driving without a license in the third degree in the Walgreens’ parking lot at 5:42 p.m. The arresting officers also discovered that he had two counts of failure to appear in court on his record. The man was taken to the Mercer Island Police Department for processing and released.
