Julianne Awrey and Anthony Carden were married in Moorpark, Calif., on April 17, 2010, under the trees of the Walnut Grove.

Julianne Awrey and Anthony Carden were married in Moorpark, Calif., on April 17, 2010, under the trees of the Walnut Grove. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Jeff Holland of Ojai Presbyterian Church, formerly of Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. The reception also took place at the Grove.

The bride’s sister, Jenny Awrey, was the matron of honor, with other attendants: Carolyn Gates, Heather Reese, Rachel Bell and Missy Barnes. The groom’s brother, Eddie Carden, was the best man, with other attendants: John Erickson, David Conger, Akash Gupta and Carney Chan. There were three flower girls and one ring bearer, all cousins of the groom.

The bride, daughter of Tina and Doug Herford, of Kenai, Alaska, and David Awrey of Camarillo, Calif., graduated from the University of Washington in 2005 and earned a M.D. from USC Keck School of Medicine in May 2010. The groom, son of Jim and Anne Carden, of Mercer Island, graduated from MIHS in 2002 and from USC in 2006. He also earned a M.D. from USC Keck School of Medicine in May 2010.

The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic. They make their new home in Sacramento, Calif., where they begin surgical residencies at UC Davis.
