A 28-year-old Mercer Island man was the victim of a car egging that is believed to have taken place between 9 p.m., Sunday, and 7:40 a.m., Monday, in the 3200 block of 80th Avenue S.E. The incident resulted in damaged paint to one of the rear car doors, with the repair cost estimated at approximately $700.

JEWELRY THEFT: A 76-year-old South end woman reported that jewelry was stolen out of her bedroom on July 3. She named her window cleaners as suspects.

FOUND: A 52-year-old Mercer Island woman reported finding a ring on the sidewalk in the 8000 block of North Mercer Way.

CAR THEFT: A 53-year-old Mercer Island woman reported that her Toyota FJ Cruiser was stolen from her home in the 3000 block of Island Crest Way. The victim believes that the suspect had entered her home during the previous 24 hours, stole her daughter’s keys and took the vehicle.

THEFT: A car prowl took place in the 3000 block of 81st Place S.E. between 8 p.m., Monday, and 9 a.m., Tuesday. The victim, a 37-year-old Mercer Island woman, reported that her checkbook, duffle bag with gym clothes, and $30 was stolen from her locked Toyota Camry.

Wednesday | 17

BURGLARY: A Mercer Island couple, 66 and 63, reported an incident of theft from their home in the 5200 block of West Mercer Way. Believing the burglary to have taken place between 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, the couple reported a debit card and two passports, missing.

CAR PROWL: A truck parked in the North end of the QFC parking lot in the 7800 block of S.E. 28th Street was broken into Wednesday around 12:01 a.m. The suspect, believed to be driving a red Toyota Tercel, took a leaf blower from the vehicle. The subsequent area search was unsuccessful.

FOUND: A wallet was found by a 45-year-old Mercer Island man in a parking lot in the 9400 block of S.E. 36th Street. The wallet contained cash, personal effects and a Washington state driver’s license for a Spokane resident. The owner was later contacted.

ABANDONED VEHICLE: A 2001 Jaguar XJ8 registered to a 50-year-old Mercer Island man was reported Thursday at 1 p.m. after being parked over 72 hours in the 4100 block of 78th Avenue S.E. The vehicle was subsequently impounded.

CAR PROWL: An unlocked Ford Econoline was entered sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the 4000 block of Island Crest Way. A Hitachi frame nail gun was stolen out of the vehicle. The total loss was $900.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A 66-year-old Mercer Island man living in the 5000 block of West Mercer Way reported finding his Aerio Suzuki damaged Friday morning, and believed the vandalism to have taken place during the previous night around 11 p.m. The victim’s car had been struck with beer bottles, which damaged the tail light and left a dent. The repair cost is estimated to be around $500.

ARREST: An arrest took place around 4:19 p.m. Friday after a 26-year-old Mercer Island man was stopped for speeding in the 8600 block of North Mercer Way and taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.

ARREST: A 51-year-old Mercer Island man was taken into custody around 1:09 a.m. in the 3100 block of 77th Avenue N.E. after a license plate check confirmed an outstanding warrant for the suspect’s arrest. He was later booked into the King County Jail.

LOST: A 31-year-old woman reported losing her passport and Visa sometime after July 8 in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th Street.

Wednesday | 24

CAR PROWL: $10 in coins were stolen out of an unlocked Chevrolet Malibu between 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, and 9:10 a.m., Wednesday, in the 8200 block of S.E. 26th Street. A plastic Ziplock bag was taken into evidence to be processed for fingerprints.

VEHICLE RECOVERED: Issaquah police recovered a stolen BMW at 9 a.m. in the 7900 block of S.E. 34th Street. The vehicle was unoccupied. After being contacted, the owner picked up the vehicle. A CD case that did not belong to the owner was inside the BMW and was turned over to police.
