Nineteen from MIHS named National Merit Commended Students

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of 19 National Merit Commended Students from Mercer Island High School.

On Sept. 26, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of 19 National Merit Commended Students from Mercer Island High School.

The 2014 National Merit Commended Students are:

About 34,000 National Merit Commended Students are being recognized throughout the nation for their exceptional academic promise. They all placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

On Sept. 11, MIHS students Lauren Hsue, David Emanuels, Louis Lam and Carlin Chuck were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, representing the top one percent of entrants.
