Island Books is hosting a “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” release party, a.k.a. Hogwarts class reunion, at 10 p.m. Saturday.

“Remember how exciting it was to gather with your friends, waiting until the stroke of midnight for the release of the new Harry Potter book? Well, we’re getting the band back together,” Island Books staffer Lizzie Orem wrote in an email to the Reporter.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is a dramatic update about the lives of everyone’s favorite wizards. Harry, Hermione, Ron and the gang are all grown up, and so are their fans. Which means this time the butterbeer will have a kick.

So break out your old costumes, brush up on your Harry Potter trivia and join Island Books to count down to the midnight release. There will be a trivia competition (winner gets a free copy of the book), treats and adult beverages served. The store is also holding a raffle, and the winner will be announced Sunday.
