Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez will throw out the first pitch at the Mercer Island Little League 2016 Opening Day ceremonies Saturday, April 30 at South Mercer Playfields.

The 2010 Cy Young winner is scheduled to speak at the morning event. Later that evening, the Mariners will take on the reigning World Series champion Kansas City Royals at 6:10 p.m. at Safeco Field.

Ceremonies will begin at 10:45 a.m. The South Mercer Playfields are located at the south end of Mercer Island, across from Lakeridge Elementary School.
