Five Mercer Island High School boys soccer players recently earned all-state recognition for the 2016 spring season.

Hunter Bauman and Eric Dreyer earned 3A all-state first team honors. Reis Kissel and Matt LeProwse were named to the second team, and David Braman earned all-state honorable mention.

“Having five players selected as the top 30 players in the state is an amazing accomplishment for Mercer Island High School,” Mercer Island coach Colin Rigby said. “We have never had two players selected as first team all-state players as long as I can remember and I am very proud of Hunter and Eric for that accomplishment. They are both hard-working boys who deserve the accolade and we are excited to have them back next year.”

The selections are made by vote of the high school coaches throughout the state of Washington. The Islanders finished the 2016 season runner-up to Interlake in the 3A state championship final, with an overall record of 18-2-1.
