Eastside FC G99 wins U18 division at San Diego Surf Cup

Islanders Kendall Riley and Camryn Steiner helped the Eastside FC G99 Red team win its U18 division at the San Diego Surf Cup, which took place July 30 through Aug. 1.

Islanders Kendall Riley and Camryn Steiner helped the Eastside FC G99 Red team win its U18 division at the San Diego Surf Cup, which took place July 30 through Aug. 1.

Eastside FC, which won the GU17 gold division the previous year, went undefeated in the tournament, scoring nine goals while conceding two through five games. In the championship match, Eastside FC went into overtime with California’s Arsenal FC-S Bowers after neither team conceded a goal during regulation.

Arsenal FC claimed a 1-0 advantage during the first overtime, but Eastside FC soon responded with the tying goal and scored the game-winner in the second overtime period, taking the cup with a 2-1 victory.

Eastside FC G99 Red team members also include Dakota Barnes, Catherine Buck, Sean Eaton, Madison Flores, Kirstie Johnson, Julia Miller, Alexie Morris, Makena Rietz, Lucia Rosenast, Alina Ruzicka, Kiley Suter, Carly Tudor and Grace Wooten. The team is coached by Lance Fischbach.
