Dancin’ at the Boys & Girls Club

Mercer Island Special Olympic athletes, coaches and parents are pleased to thank Blair Rassmussen and the Boys and Girls Club for opening their door to our program. We started our season off with a “Hoe Down” dance and had a blast at the new facility. Even though the outside temperature was nearing 100 degrees, we stayed cool inside the air-conditioned rooms.

Our athletes would also like to thank Linda and Toni Gadola at Alpenland for donating the funds to help us buy our pizza, pop and hire a “real cowboy” and “cowgirl” to teach us line dancing. Also, a big thanks to Tambi Cook at VOICE for sending over an enthusiastic crew of volunteers to help us set up and monitor the event. We had a boot scootin’ great time. Yee haw, life is good!
