The second of two summer “Timebanking” workshops will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Community and Event Center to introduce Islanders to the project and register additional members.
Timebanking is a system organized to provide the exchange of services between interested individuals in a community without using money. For every hour that you spend doing a task for someone else, you earn a credit; you can then exchange your credit to have someone complete a task for you, building useful relationships along the way.
The MI Timebank is part of the Puget Sound Timebank network, and is a project of Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.
