Joyce Dee La Plant

Joyce D. La Plant, 78, died peacefully on May 8, 2010, from pneumonia after heart surgery. Joyce was surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.Her parents Robert and Cecelia Lackey of Genoa, OH and her niece Krystie Russell of Columbus, OH preceded her in death. Joyce is survived by her husband, Bob, who have been Mercer Island residents for 43 years. Bob and Joyce were married 58 years ago and share a friendship spanning 75 years. In addition, she is survived by her daughter, Suzette, of Seattle; son Dr. Don (Denise) of Poulsbo; son Tom (Denise) of Mercer Island; four grandchildren James, Catherine, Caroline, and Eric; brother Don (Ann) of Pittsburgh, PA; sister Carrie (Tom) of Columbus, OH; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and relatives. She will be greatly missed. A private memorial for family and friends will be held in her honor.
