Bonnie Ann Greenwood Paterson
Bonnie Ann Greenwood Paterson, 60, died on November 4, 2009 from complications of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She had resided in Vermilion, Ohio and Mercer Island, Washington.Bonnie loved her family, friends, homes, church and the occasional stray pet. She thoroughly enjoyed good music, dance, theater, books, travel, cooking and a good glass of wine. Her humor was quick and sarcastic; her philosophy was liberal; her spirit was strong. Bonnie graduated from Vermilion High School and received degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University (BA) and the University of Washington (MA). Nature was her solace, especially the lake and beach. Bonnie was a graceful water and snow skier, a strong swimmer and sailor. Her joy in teaching was introducing children to her favorite books.She is survived by her husband, Don; son, Nate and fiancé, Molly Lawrence; daughter, Bethany; sister – in-law, Judy Paterson Cowen; her brother-in-law, Neil Paterson; sister-in-law, Margaret Paterson; aunt, Helen (Tody) Root; and her cousins, Rob Root, Kelly Bodde, and David Cox. Her parents, George (Bud) Greenwood and Evaline (Bonnie) Root Greenwood preceded her in death.Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. A Memorial Service will be held, Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street, Vermilion.
