Karin Linnea Sellin

Karin, the oldest of 5, was born to Anna and Victor Bjorklund, Swede-Finn immigrants, in Negaunee, MI, on October 31, 1914.She passed on January 20, 2011, at the Covenant Shores Health Center.At age 24, she met Bert, son of Swedish immigrants from Yakima, WA. They married in 1939. Mercer Island became home in 1956 where they raised 3 children. Karin partnered with Bert during his 40 year career with NBofC/Rainier Bank, Swedish Club, 1st Covenant Church, various civic/charitable organizations, their many travels and river cabin stays. Karin’s legacy of love, laughter, and encouragement will be remembered by all.Survivors include her 4 brothers; her children, Doug Sellin (Ellen), Pat Heath (Bill), and Cyndy Bostrom; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Karin was preceded in death by her husband Bert.A family celebration of Karin’s life will be held this summer.Remembrances can be given to American Red Cross or Swedish Hospice.
