Leap for Green sustainability fair is April 1

Mercer Island’s Leap for Green community sustainability fair started back in 2008, to celebrate Earth Day (April 22) by promoting environmental practices and activities for kids and adults, and to raise general awareness of local sustainability resources.

The fair returns once again this year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 1 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, indoors and out, rain or shine.

As usual, the fair will include children’s activities such as arts and crafts, educational exhibits, live music, nature-based programs, food trucks and much more. There will also be a Luther Burbank wetland tour and an animal encounters farm. Learn more at www.mercergov.org/LeapForGreen.

The event is sponsored by Mercer Island Chiropractic, Puget Sound Energy and Republic Services.
