Mercer Island City Council incumbent Dan Grausz looks set to retain his seat in Position No. 2 for one more term. According to King County ballot counts, Grausz is running ahead of Ira Appelman for City Council Position No. 2. As of 11 a.m. on Nov. 6, Grausz was leading by 55.9 percent or 3,776 votes. Appelman had earned 44 percent of the votes with 2,958 ballots cast in his name.

City Councilmember Jim Pearman, running uncontested for Position No. 4, tallied 4,606 votes or 97.7 percent, while incumbent Mike Grady, running uncontested for Position No. 6, garnered 4,602 votes for 98 percent. There were 108 write-ins on Pearman’s ballot and 94 on Grady’s.

As for the School Board, Dave Myerson continues to stand ahead of Terri Caditz with 53.3 percent of the vote compared with 46.5 percent for Position No. 2. Myerson has earned 3,327 ballots in his name, while Caditz had 2,899 as of 11 a.m. on Nov. 6. There were 12 write-ins.

Adair Dingle sealed her seat in Position No. 4 with 98.9 percent of the vote or 3,840 ballots. Dingle had 34 write-ins.

On the county level, King County Councilmember Dow Constantine defeated former KIRO news member Susan Hutchison in the race for King County executive. Constantine earned 57.01 percent of the vote while Hutchison earned 42.76 percent.
