One more night
There will be a Mostly Music in the Park concert at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4 in Mercerdale Park. The Bluegrass band, Lost in the Fog, will perform. They were rescheduled due to rain. The concert is free.
School in session
School has begun for Mercer Island School District students and most of the other schools on the Island. Watch for students on foot, on bicycles and extra traffic challenges due to construction along S.E. 40th Street. For a schedule of start times for MISD schools, see page A4.
Market continues
The Mercer Island Farmers Market continues on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on S.E. 32nd Street, adjacent to Mercerdale Park.
Talk about tolling
A special City Council meeting to seek citizen comments on tolling is set for 6 p.m., Sept. 8, at City Hall Council Chambers. Hear about I-90 construction and discussions of the 520 Tolling Committee’s test of four bridge-tolling scenarios designed to generate funding for 520 bridge project. The public is invited to send comments to council@mercergov.org before Sept. 5 or the 520 Tolling Committee, http://build520.org. If you cannot attend be sure to tune in to Channel 21 to watch your City Council at work.

Fund grants
The Mercer Island Community Fund is currently accepting applications for grants. It considers applications from organizations for funding that benefit the Mercer Island community.
