Oct. 9

THEFT: A FedEx package delivered on Oct. 6 was reported stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 2700 block of 60th Ave. SE at 10:05 a.m.

MORE THEFT: A woman said two kayaks were stolen from her property in the 6400 block of E. Mercer Way at 6:35 p.m. One was found on the lake and returned, but one was still missing, for a loss of $1,300.

Oct. 10

FOUND PROPERTY: A vehicle stolen out of Seattle was found parked at the Mercer Island Park and Ride at 10:57 a.m.

BURGLARY: A victim in the 5200 block of Forest Ave. SE reported at 2:41 p.m. that their watch was stolen during an open house by a suspect who identified himself as a realtor. Only three people came through the house and the realtor personally knew two of them.

Oct. 12

MISCHIEF: The exterior slider door of a unit in Aljoya was reported vandalized at 9:25 a.m. An unknown item struck the outer pane of the window, breaking it, for a replacement cost of $350.

TRAFFIC: A 14-year-old unlicensed driver failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a collision at the intersection of Southeast 28th Street and Island Crest Way at 6 p.m.

Oct. 13

ARREST: A subject with a Mercer Island warrant was taken to Harborview from King County Jail. When she was brought out for court, she said she had swallowed a pencil and had wood chips and paper clip pieces in her eyeballs. She was brought back to the jail after evaluation.

Oct. 16

PROWLING: A victim’s backpack, containing his work laptop and other electronic items, was reported stolen at 8:04 a.m. after a suspect prowled his unlocked vehicle in the 7900 block of SE 34th St.

Oct. 20

FRAUD: A man’s Social Security number and his wife’s identifying information were used to cash checks at a casino in Colorado, for a loss of $250. The incident was reported in the 7400 block of N. Mercer Way at 1:56 p.m.
