ARTHUR DAVID MILLER

Arthur David Miller passed away peacefully on May 11, 2018 following a stroke, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Penn State University, graduating in 1964. Soon after, he was recruited by the Peace Corps and went into training at OSU to be a chicken farmer in India. While there he met his wife, Carol (Spicer) Miller, another volunteer from an earlier group.

Returning to the U.S. he was a Peace Corps recruiter for a year, then came to Los Angeles to work at IBM, thus beginning his long career in the computer industry. One of his jobs took him and the family to England, where he was Vice President of Sales. He loved the travel opportunities provided and made friends in many countries. Back home again his final job was CEO of Microrim and Chilisoft companies.

His hobbies were varied and included learning Chinese, growing unusual conifers, learning clock repair, machining and the fixing of antique pocket watches. Always extremely focused, he achieved every goal he set for himself.

He was a good friend to many and loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife, Carol, their children Melissa (Miller) Fanucci, son, Jason and his wife and their children, Jordan, Piper and Lincoln. He will also be missed by his sister and brother in law Jack and Linda Herman.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Old Dog Haven. A celebration of his life will be held at the Mercer Island Community Center on June 2 at 10:00 am.
