Local scouts improve Mercerdale Park

Scouts helped Mark Mangino with his Eagle scout project by doing hard labor in the park.

Scouts from Troop 457 spent over 9 hours on May 5 doing hard labor digging ditches to enhance the drainage above Mercerdale Park as part of Mark Mangino’s Eagle Project.

In addition to widening and deepening the ditches next to the popular walking paths through the greenway, they added a culvert to successfully move the water downhill without erosion and put gravel on part of the pathway that was disturbed.
