The Mercer Island Visual Arts League (MIVAL) hosted the 44th annual Junior Art Show, featuring art created by students in kindergarten through high school, during last weekend’s annual Summer Celebration event.

120 art pieces were submitted in categories of drawing, painting, crafts, sculpture, photography and digital art. Cash awards and certificates were given to 46 art pieces in all different categories.

Wells Fargo has sponsored and hosted the event for the past 21 years. Special awards were contributed by Cascade Frames, Terra Bella, MI Florist, and MIVAL members. Special MIVAL awards were given in honor of past MVIAL members Jean Jack, Rose Preston, Franca Martin and Pia Messina who were among the original organizers of this event and strongly believed in encouraging youth art.
