We are writing to share our support for My-Linh Thai for State Representative, 41st LD, Position No. 2. We have known My-Linh since our kids, now in high school, were elementary students. We first saw her passion for providing opportunity to all kids while working together to plan a school fundraising auction. My-Linh’s dedication and advocacy for students and schools was evident from the start. Her own experience as a child refugee from Vietnam, arriving in the United States at the age of 15, shaped her view of the importance of an equitable and high-quality level education for all. She arrived speaking no English, equipped with intelligence, drive, and a never-accept-no attitude. My-Linh graduated from high school 2 years later and entered the University of Washington’s School of Pharmacy.
My-Linh is the first to tell you that she doesn’t know everything. She’s also the first to do her research and learn everything about any issue that needs an opinion or action, from learning how to set up a medical practice, helping young, immigrant mothers, administering scholarships, or serving on the Bellevue School Board where she deals with issues including logistics, budget, race, and poverty. My-Linh is a passionate advocate who works for others because it is the right thing to do.
We wholeheartedly endorse My-Linh Thai and encourage you to join us in casting your vote for her to represent us in the Washington State Legislature.
