September 4, 1958 – September 20, 2018

Michael Bouillon was born to Donna and Richard Bouillon of Mercer Island on September 4, 1958. He attended elementary, junior high and high school on Mercer Island where, in his senior year, he discovered a passion for film and communications. Michael pursued his chosen field at the University of Washington and California State University, Long Beach. He joined the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at the UW.

Prior to graduation from the UW Michael accepted an internship at KOMO Television. He steadily rose to the position of Senior News Director, where he was a four-time Emmy nominee. A car accident in 2001 temporarily interrupted Michael’s career. After a period of healing, he continued as a News Director with the CBS affiliate in Sacramento.

In Sacramento Michael reconnected with a dear high school friend, Leslie Hammond. They moved to Medford, Oregon where Michael continued in television as a freelancer. His final home was Eagle Point, outside of Medford.

Michael enjoyed boating, snow and water skiing, and scuba diving. He was an avid “news junkie“ and a voracious reader; he especially enjoyed Stephen King. Michael loved animals from early childhood and had several beloved cats and dogs over the years.

Michael was a gifted story teller with an infectious sense of humor. He was an excellent writer and was working on a novel up to his untimely death.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Richard, his mother Donna and his sister Dorcy Itaya. He is survived by his loving fiancé Leslie Hammond, of Eagle Point, OR, his sister Cindy Bouillon-Jensen of Seattle and his brother Lincoln Bouillon of Gig Harbor.

Michael will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends. The family will hold a celebration-of-life gathering at a later date.
