Mercer Island boys soccer got another step closer to locking up the 3A KingCo crown, defeating Lake Washington 3-0 Tuesday night at Lake Washington High School.

Lucas Meek, Daniel Espeleta and Austin Taylor all scored goals for the Islanders (9-1-2, 9-0-0), while Matt LeProwse registered the shutout in goal.

With three games to go, the Islanders need one more victory to take the KingCo division outright. They travel to Sammamish (4-5-2, 2-5-2) to take on the Totems at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1.
