Parks development decision

Mercerdale Park saved

We are happy to report that at the April 16 Mercer Island City Council meeting, the council and Mercer Island Center for the Arts (MICA) unanimously agreed to seek a solution to terminate the 2016 memorandum of understanding between the two parties that would have allowed MICA to develop a large building in Mercerdale Park. While some may argue that this action was long overdue, on behalf of the thousands of Mercer Island residents that actively participated to protect Mercerdale Park over the past five years, we are ready to move forward.

Sincerely,

Meg Lippert and Peter Struck
