The Mercer Island girls fastpitch team lost to Liberty on Thursday afternoon, with a final score of 20-10.

The teams were close in score after the first inning, with the Islanders leading 4-3 over the Patriots. But a five run second inning for Liberty, while holding the Islanders to no runs gave the Patriots the lead.

The third inning kept Liberty on top, adding eight runs, but Mercer Island posted six of their own. Liberty sealed the win in the top of the fourth, with four runs, while keeping the Islanders away from home plate.
