Aviv Attia of StandWithUs will be the speaker at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Oct. 6.

StandWithUs is a nonprofit international education pro-Israel organization, which supports Israel and fights anti-Semitism through education, according to the chamber’s website.

Attia was born in Tel Aviv and raised in Ramat Gan, a suburb of Tel Aviv. Like many Israelis, Aviv’s family had centuries of history in the Middle East before moving to Israel. Through these experiences, he has helped thousands of people gain a perspective on Israel that is often not shared in the media, the chamber site adds.
