Carol Ann Hedden Hackett, MD passed away on

September 19, 2020.

She was born in Valdese, NC, daughter of Thomas and

Zada Hedden. Carol grew up in Lenoir, NC where she was

Valedictorian of her high school class. She attended Duke

University on a national merit scholarship and received an

M.D. from the university of North Carolina. Carol was a

resident at Georgetown University Hospital where she met

her husband, John P Hackett MD.

Carol and her husband moved to Mercer Island, WA

in 1975, after her husbands naval service and fellowship.

She began a practice of Family Medicine in 1977 in

Bellevue, WA.

She was a Fellow of the American Academy of Family

Practice, on the staff of Overlake Hospital and was an

active member of the King County Medical Society and the

Washington State Medical Association. Carol was a Clinical

Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School

of Medicine. She was active in the DAR.

She was mother to three children. She is survived

by her husband, three children-John (Ginger), Elizabeth

(Colin Green), and Susanne, two brothers – Tom and Bill

Hedden, and her grandchildren-Danielle and Jay Hackett.
