The Mercer Island Sister City Association will present a free online lecture, “Impressionist Women Painters,” by well-known local art historian Rebecca Albioni at 7 p.m. Jan. 26. To register for the Zoom presentation, visit http://mercerislandsistercity.org/other/.

Albioni, who has been lecturing at the Frye Art Museum since 1997, will discuss the Impressionists, innovators in artistic technique who were also the earliest group of painters to encourage female artists to exhibit with them. Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassat, Eva Gonzales and Marie Bracquemond interpreted the new visual language from a female point of view.
