On August 14, 2021 Elizabeth Ann Elkins passed away peacefully at Aegis in Kent, WA. Where she and her husband (Richard) spent their last two years together. In heaven, she will join her husband who left us this March.

Elizabeth was born April 5, 1937 in Aberdeen, WA. She was adopted and raised by a wonderful women, Iva Pollock/Sorter.

She grew up in Seattle on Queen Ann Hill where she graduated from Queen Ann High School in 1955. Later she attended Washington State University where she met the love her life, Richard Elkins. They were married in 1959, a long lasting love affair till the end. Elizabeth’s secret to a lasting marriage was to always forgive each other before going to bed. This practice strengthened their union to handle all of life’s obstacles. In 1963, she brought her baby boy “Jon – Jon” into the world, two years later the Elkins family was completed by the arrival of a little girl, Jodi.

In 1969, Richard built the family a house on Mercer Island, WA were the two resided for almost 60 years. While her husband financially supported the family, Elizabeth accomplished the most challenging tasks of all; managing the household, raising their two children, and building a long-lasting marriage. She was the glue that kept the family together similar to June Cleaver from “Leave it to Beaver”. The family attended Mercer Island Covenant Church on Sunday even during Seahawk games. Their faith was what anchored her family and was their moral compass. Beyond Elizabeth’s love for her family and faith, her love of sweets brought her to work at Russell Stover’s once her children left for college.

In 1993, the Elkins family grew once Jon married his loving wife, Jeanette. Elizabeth welcomed her first grand-daughter into the world in August 1998 (Ashley) and welcomed her second in August 2001 (Allison). She took on her new title of “Nana Beth” with excitement and enthusiasm. Elizabeth loved watching her granddaughters after school and attending their sporting events.

The dynamic duo, Richard and Elizabeth had many hobbies that they enjoyed with their friends. Many of the friendships be- gan over 60 years ago with some as far back as high school. Elizabeth believed her best time was after turning 50 where life challenges and stress were less leaving more time for fun and excitement from motorcycles, snowmobiling, camping, cruising and traveling across the world.

Elizabeth was also known for throwing an annual Christmas party for many years where she brought all her friendships/relationships together which could only be successful when you are your genuine self in every setting. There were Boeing people, snowmobile clubs, church members, camping group, hunting buddies, political people, and class mates. Knowing Elizabeth, she is well on her way to planning this year’s birthday party in heaven.
