A 29-year-old woman entered the North end QFC at night and stole $300 out of a cash register after prying it open just after 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, in the 7800 block of S.E. 28th Street. She returned to the store multiple times and stole various tobacco products, including cartons and single packs. A surveillance camera recorded a video of the suspect, and two witnesses were present. The total loss was $900.

Fraud: A Mercer Island woman’s banking information was accessed and copies were sent to a Texas address without authorization. The victim did not sustain any financial loss.

Car prowl: A purple raincoat and prescription sunglasses were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle at night in a First Hill neighborhood in the 3300 block of 72nd Place S.E. The total loss was $1,050. The vehicle was not damaged.

Malicious mischief: Someone pried a door handle off of a vehicle at 5:40 p.m. at Homestead Field in the 8100 block of S.E. 40th Street. The suspect, unknown, did not enter the vehicle, but the handle was wrecked.

Thefts: Three stained glass windows were stolen off of the front porch of a residence in the 7700 block of Ridgecrest Lane. The theft occurred sometime after 6:30 p.m., Sept. 24. The windows measured 6-feet-by-8-inches and were worth $200 apiece.
A 1.5 Karat diamond ring set in heavy gold was stolen from a residence in the 8600 block of S.E. 76th place, sometime after Sept. 1. The ring was stolen with a gold necklace and gold coin pendant, and heavy link gold bracelets. The 69-year-old victim reported that either her maid or a friend of the maid stole the items. The total estimated loss was $5,000.

Theft: A 45-year-old woman lost her wallet at the North end QFC between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the 7800 block of S.E. 28th Street. Someone turned in the wallet later, and it was missing three credit cards. The person who stole the cards used them at the north Mercer Island QFC and the Renton Walmart.

Bike theft: Two road bikes, worth $2,000 altogether, were stolen from the back of a parking garage in the 2700 block of 76th Avenue S.E. sometime between 10:30 a.m., Sept. 29, and 9 a.m., Sept. 30. The victims had secured their bikes with cable locks. Multiple unsecured children’s bikes nearby were not stolen.
