Playtime coming soon at Mercerdale Park

On the afternoon of Jan. 24, a Mercerdale Park user smiled and noted that the playground in progress was “looking good.” According to the city’s Let’s Talk community page, staff is estimating the playground’s completion in late February, but that could change depending on the weather. For now, the train play sculpture and other equipment sits behind fences until the reopening. “The playground surfacing crew needs dry weather and 50-degree temperatures to install the resilient surfacing –- it may take several weeks to get a window,” the Jan. 5 report reads.
