Community Briefs | Islanders collect diplomas

Local graduates receive diplomas from schools near and far.

Natalie Marr, a 2010 graduate of Mercer Island High School recently graduated from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon on May 4, 2014. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well a Spanish degree.

Talia Homchick graduated on May 18, from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Business Economics.

Robbie Homchick graduated on May 25, from Amherst College with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and French. Robbie swam for 4 years for the Amherst men’s swim and dive team. Both Talia and Robbie will work and live in Chicago.

Four Islanders have graduated from Seattle Pacific University. They are:

Trevor Stewart Harris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

Jenny Jung-Mi Kim graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Pak Wai Li graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

Allison Rachel Strange graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design.
