The Mercer Island City Council will hold its second hybrid meeting of the month at 5 p.m. on Sept. 20.
The virtual meeting will be broadcast live on MITV Channel 21 and live streamed on the city council’s YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/mercerislandcouncil.
Some items on the regular business agenda are: An introduction to the King County Solid Waste Division Re+ program, which is focused on increasing waste prevention and recycling; a 2023 work plan and budget approval for A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH), an intergovernmental coalition of 15 cities and King County focused on affordable housing; and a 2022 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project update and 2023-2028 CIP preview.
The consent agenda features a pair of city proclamations for Mercer Island No Islander Goes Hungry (MI NIGH) Day for Sept. 23 and Peace Day on Mercer Island for Sept. 21. There will also be an authorization for the city manager to sign and submit the Opioid Distributors Washington Settlement Participation Form and Allocation Agreement.
