The Mercer Island High School (MIHS) annual Homecoming Parade, “Space,” will roll through some city streets from 5-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7.
The parade will begin at the upper Northwood parking lot and leave down 86th Avenue Southeast. Then, the parade will turn onto Southeast 42nd Street, where it will carry onto 92nd Avenue Southeast, turn left to Southeast 41 Street, and finish behind the school.
Spectators can view the parade on both sides of the sidewalk, and can park at the lower Northwood lot off of Southeast 40th Street, or at the high school before 4:15 p.m.
Following the parade, the Islanders’ football squad will take on Lake Washington at 7 p.m. at MIHS Stadium.
“We appreciate the accommodations made by the Mercer Island community to ensure this tradition can be celebrated and we value your support,” reads the school district website.
