Pride, Juneteenth events set for this month

A Pride in the Park Celebration will take place from 3-6 p.m. on June 17 at Mercerdale Park. The Pride and city of Mercer Island free gathering will feature games, sweet treats, live music and an LGBTQIA+ book swap. A Juneteenth Community Celebration will occur from noon to 4 p.m. on June 19 at Mercerdale Park. The Mercer Island High School Black Student Union and the city of Mercer Island event will recognize the holiday and unite the community. The free event will be complete with minority owned food trucks, kids’ activities and live music by the Triple Threat Band.
