Local chef and TV personality Jill Sharpe appeared on Guy’s Grocery Games Sunday, Nov. 24 on the Food Network, beating out her competition and winning $16,000.
Sharpe, the chef and owner of The Lake Kitchen, her private cooking school in Mercer Island, competed against three other chefs. She was able to make it through three rounds of challenges, making an international dish with five items or less, a dish with items only from the cereal and snack aisle, and cooking a steak and potato dish with the added twist that there were no steak or potatoes in the store.
For her final challenge, Sharpe managed to race through the supermarket and bag six out of the 10 items on the shopping list to win $16,000. She plans to share a portion of her winnings with the Seattle Union Gospel Mission.
