Congregational Church on Mercer Island will present author and climate activist David Orr in conversation with interviewer Steve Scher, formally of KUOW, at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 18. Orr’s latest book is a collection of essays he edited called “Democracy in a Hotter Time: Climate Change and Democratic Transformation.” Free admission.
