Matsukawa will discuss ‘Brave Mrs. Sato’ at Sept. 17 Rotary meeting

Lori Matsukawa will discuss her recent book,”Brave Mrs. Sato,” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Sept. 17 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St. The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch from Pogacha is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.

Matsukawa, an Emmy award-winning journalist and pioneering TV anchor, will delve into the heartwarming story of intergenerational friendship, immigration and bravery. The children’s book shows readers how heritage, food, traditions and stories can help them feel at home wherever they are.

“Brave Mrs. Sato” is available at Island Books, and Matsukawa will sign books for those who bring them to the meeting.
