Eleanor Wible: 1922 – 2024

Eleanor Wible, a long time Mercer Island resident , born on Mothers Day 1922, in Kobe, Japan, the second of ten children of British Christian missionary Arthur Petrie and his American wife, Dorothy Moyle Petrie, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 102 years on September 9, 2024 at Emerald Heights in Redmond, Washington. Before moving to Redmond in 2015, Eleanor enjoyed caring for her dream home, pool, waterfall, and gardens. She loved swimming in her backyard pool and having large family pool parties—especially on the 4th of July. She and her sister did aquarobics at the Mary Wayte pool for over 25 years. Eleanor was an accomplished pianist and vocalist, who played and sang for church services, weddings and funerals. Eleanor is survived by three children, Gary, Sharon, and Dan, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and five sisters. She was predeceased by her husband of 77 years, one son, one grandson, one great granddaughter, and four brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 16508 8th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. A Luncheon will be held following the Memorial.
